Dried beef FP65

Beef is an important 'claim' ingredient for pet food. The production of beef meat for human food application generates a lot of co-products. Co-products like meat trimmings, bones, fat & organs can find a sustainable  application in pet food, which pet parents appreciate. IQI cooperates strategically with large beef producers and develops multiple added value and functional beef-based pet food ingredients. As part of OSI-group, IQI can also leverage the extensive supply chain of the OSI-family to ensure that our customers get the beef they need.

Dried beef FP65

Beef bones are processed further into beef bone chips. These beef bone chips are supplied to gelatin manufacturers for the extraction of collagen/gelatin from the bones.  At the human grade beef bone processing plant  a soluble protein is derived as a by-product. This protein product is partially defatted and then spray dried into powder. The resulting  powder, called dried beef FP65, is high in protein (> 65%) and produces a gel after heating, making it a clean label, pure beef binder for dry pet food and treats.
