Dried beef for front-of-pack beef claims

Beef is and has always been a popular ingredient in pet food. And supported in part by current consumer trends like humanization and premiumization, beef will also remain an important claim ingredient in the industry. Even with limited availability, relatively high price and larger CO2 footprint than other animal-based proteins. That’s why it’s crucial for the pet food industry to valorize side-stream products from human beef meat production in an optimal way into valuable additional sources of beef ingredients.

Dried beef from fresh beef bones

Our dried beef products are made from fresh and meaty beef bones in a human-grade facility, making them great ingredients for front-of-pack claims and offering excellent binding functionality and high protein content. It is available in two variants, hydrolyzed and non-hydrolyzed:

– Dried beef: pure hydrolyzed beef powder with a high protein (72%) and low ash (10%) content.

– Dried beef FP65: stands for functional protein, with a protein content of 65%. Derived via the same process, but without hydrolysis. That way, it retains its functional binding properties as a gelling agent.
