Dried chicken

Chicken is the most common animal protein source in pet food for a number of good reasons. First of all, it is abundantly available globally and a relatively trouble-free animal species in terms of export health certifications and religious sensitivity. Animal welfare initiatives with regard to chicken, such as slow-growing breeds and increased outdoor access, are adopted globally. Chicken’s carbon footprint is relatively small while by-products, such as chicken meal, chicken MDM, and chicken plasma, have an excellent nutritional profile or functional properties.

Dried chicken

IQI offers a wide range of dried chicken products to the pet food industry. Our processing is typically done more gently than the classical rendering. Most products come from human-grade processing lines, whereby enzyme technology or a gentle cooking process is used to separate the fat. Spray drying or other low-temperature drying systems are used to make the final product shelf stable. All of our dried chicken products are stabilized with natural antioxidants, while ash levels are typically below 12%. Together with our supply partners, we can tailor product specifications to the customers needs and deliver certified products with regard to animal welfare.
