Oats are a widely used grain in dog food. Once cooked and served at room temperature, oats are relatively easy for dogs to digest. They are a natural source of dietary fiber, and contain a variety of micronutrients, including manganese, selenium, vitamin B1, magnesium and phosphorus. Oats also support skin and coat health due to their content of vitamin B and linoleic acid, which is an omega-6 fatty acid. As a naturally gluten-free grain, oats are a suitable ingredient for sensitive pets and functional pet food formulations.
IQI's oat protein is a highly nutritious plant-based protein source with a protein content of approximately 55%. It has a typical cereal-based amino acid profile and a relatively high fat content of 13%. With an ash content of around 6%, oat protein achieves a decent DIASS score, reflecting its digestibility and nutritional quality. With its neutral flavor, oat protein blends easily into a variety of pet food formulations. Its amino acid profile complements other plant proteins, such as pea protein. Oat protein is also gluten-free and has excellent digestibility. These qualities make it a valuable, functional ingredient with strong consumer appeal in plant-based pet food diets.
