As demand for high-quality plant-based proteins in pet food grows, formulators are exploring a wider variety of protein sources. Oat protein is already well established in human nutrition but remains relatively uncommon in pet food, making it a distinctive option for plant-based pet food formulations.
IQI now offers PrOatein, a concentrated oat protein ingredient developed and produced by our partner Lantmännen. PrOatein contains approximately 55% protein and combines high digestibility with a favorable nutritional profile.
The ingredient contains a range of essential amino acids and is particularly rich in methionine and cysteine. This makes it a great solution to complement other proteins. Its mild, neutral flavor profile also makes it suitable for a variety of pet food applications.
