Dried pork collagen powder

Pork is an important part of the human diet in many European, American, and Asian countries. Although not often serving as a claim ingredient in pet food, it is used in many pet food formulations. Of the many different pork-based ingredients available to the pet food industry, IQI focuses on specialty pork-based ingredients for pet food. Programs for pig production pay special attention to animal welfare, which is becoming more and more important to consumers and pet parents.

Dried pork collagen powder

The dried pork collagen powder offered by IQI is derived from pork skin and produced in a European human-grade facility. It contains more than 83% protein, but typically has a lower nutritional value because of its amino acid profile. Dried pork collagen powder is a highly functional and fully digestible ingredient with a wide range of applications in pet food. Collagen, for instance, can be a valuable ingredient for premium pet food formulations. It improves the texture, durability, and mouth feel of kibbles, and provides chewable hardness and mechanical elasticity when used in formulas for snacks and treats.

EU certified
As confirmed by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), all of IQI's imported animal proteins from Europe which comply with EU Regulation 1069/2009, once further processed into petfood in the U.S. are eligible for export from the U.S. to the EU.
