Salmon oil is made from fresh side streams of pure Chilean salmon. When the salmon products are processed, oil is extracted that can be applied to pet food directly. It is rich in long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, natural antioxidants, and other essential nutrients. Salmon oil is one of the few fish oils that can be used as a non-refined (crude) oil. This is due to the freshness of the raw products, speed of processing, and the stable nature of salmon oil, which naturally contains astaxanthin. Salmon oil has an extremely good reputation with pet parents, also because of its popularity as a B2C product that can be directly poured on dry pet food kibbles.
