White fish – the group name for various species like pollock, cod, haddock, and saithe – is a highly popular source of marine protein in human nutrition and is often used in typical deep-fried seafood dishes. The neutral flavor of white fish makes it suitable for all generations. In pet food, white fish is appreciated most for its relatively low fat content and richness of omega-3 long-chain fatty acids, making it especially beneficial for the brain and body. Many white fish fisheries are MSC certified.
The premium white fish meal that IQI offers has numerous health benefits. It contains less saturated fat than beef or poultry, and is rich in protein, essential amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and the omega-3 long-chain fatty acids DHA and EPA. These help to manage inflammatory problems related to joints, skin/coat, and heart and bladder diseases. DHA is beneficial for the brains of puppies, kittens and older pets alike. IQI’s white fish meal is available all year round. It is sourced from the clear ocean waters of Argentina and is MarinTrust-certified, meaning it is responsibly sourced and produced.
